Ceva Santé Animale
Ceva Santé Animale is a veterinary pharmaceutical company active in the development, production and distribution of veterinary medicines for companion animals and farm animals. Ceva is constantly striving to find better solutions for animal diseases; improving the health, welfare and productivity of the animals. Ceva has increasingly focused on preventive veterinary medicine, especially with vaccines. Good veterinary company support is very important in the context of disease prevention. That is why Ceva wants to offer a total service to the vet and pig farmer. Strong technical support and lung testing with the Ceva Long Program are part of this total service. Working together with the vet to solve problems is central.
During this edition we pay special attention to the Baby Big Health Check and lung examination with the Ceva Lung Program.
– The Baby Big Health Check is a health check for piglets in the farrowing pen. Based on a checklist, the farrowing pen management and the health status of the suckling piglets are checked. Special attention is paid to a few specific risk factors that pose a threat to the health of piglets in the farrowing pen, in particular: colostrum intake and colostrum quality, iron supply and intestinal health.
– The Ceva Lung Program (CLP) is an application for assessing the health status of lungs in slaughter pigs. The CLP method allows to determine the presence, number of cases and the impact of possible infections with Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (M. hyo) and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (App). The CLP application is used during lung screening in the slaughterhouse. At the end of the CLP test, the veterinarian and the pig farmer receive a report containing a number of parameters that can provide insight into the extent to which M. hyo and App infections are under control.
